Morelands Copse Camping
Moreland's Copse Camping was founded to fund the local children's charity PPEDS (Ponies and Pets Educating Diabetics and Siblings Reg: 1062253) which has been going to strong since 1994. PPEDS aims to help support and educate children with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes in the local community and beyond; it encourages children to communicate openly about the disease, providing them with education and support in a nurturing environment.
The woodland was itself founded as a retreat for both the disabled and the able bodied alike around 8 years ago when VEOLIA funded a project to set up a pathway around the woods along with a garden, fencing and everything you see there today. The all weather pathway through the site and around the woods was put down to enable riders of all abilities the opportunity to enjoy being under the canopy in the safest possible environment.
Moreland's Copse is a protected ancient woodland and as such has been preserved and unspoiled; remaining to this day a safe haven for all types of Wildlife and Flora and Fauna. It is our aim to offer visitors the unique opportunity to enjoy the woods as authentically as possible by remaining 'off grid' during your stay and 'get back to nature' . Our pledge is to use only renewable fuel sources, biodegradable resources and eco-friendly products so that everything on site is nature and wildlife friendly.

Our Ancient Woodland
The Moreland's Copse is an exciting place for both children and adults to enjoy. We offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where you can relax and explore the delights of a natural thriving woodland. Feel free to bring your pets as the woods and campsite are surrounded on all sides by well maintained deer fencing.
There is a 500 metre all weather path around the woods designed to provide disabled access so everyone can enjoy the canopy in safety and comfort.
The woods themselves are founded on an old Monks path and have a strong local history dating back centuries. They support many different native species from insects to birds we have wildlife everywhere. From our wildlife camera traps we have observed over 36 species of bird, common badger, deer, foxes, hedgehogs, mice, voles, toads and many more besides. Each tree within the woods has been given a 'Tree Protection Order' from the local council, this means that they are forever immortalised in situ. We have many different native tree species such as Oak, Ash, Hazel and Hawthorn and the coppice is all Hazel which supports an abundant Dormouse population.
Moreland's Copse is classed as ancient woodland and supports very rare flora in such density as to indicate its longevity. We hope it will be here for generations to come so that all who visit can enjoy and relax in the stunning and tranquil surroundings.
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
